A lot of times I feel awkward walkin' into a bootshop and watchin' all the work grind to a halt for the length of my visit. Not so in Bob's shop. Bob's the first one to tell you that there is no such thing as a "Bob McLean boot" ...everything is done as a team, and he's proud to have such good folks working in his shop.

This is Ms. Dolly Walls ...originally a Texas bootmaker, and a student of Jack Reed and Don Atkinson. One of the finest things about Dolly is the obvious joy she takes in her work. You can see her kinda light up talking about a pair of boots that were just ordered. "Oh!", she'll say, "those are gonna be beautiful!" ...and it's like she can see into the future.

(NOTE: Dolly posted a "job wanted" notice on my bulletin board, and was quickly hired by Bob McLean. That was about a year and a half ago ...ain't the internet great?!)
