I timed my trip to Sedona to coincide with "Beyond the 98th Meridian: Images of the American West;" it's an art exhibition and sale held by the Dry Creek Arts Fellowship. The show included silverwork, photography, sculpture, rawhide and horsehair braiding, and the work of two bootmakers, Mr. Bob McLean and Mr. Ray Dorwart (Guthrie, OK).

This is a pair of Ray Dorwart's boots, they've got a pearlized cream kid band with inlayed diamonds. Ray once worked with Jay Griffith...so I suppose if there was a family tree for bootmakers, you'd have to say he's come from the C.H. Hyer branch.
