Sometimes Thursdays are hard, one long day away from Friday…”boot day”. Today was hard. I’m helping some folks make some program decisions at my day job. They need about a three foot high pile of paper to help them to agree and to plan. Someone asked me for some demographic data, census population numbers that the State agency had provided, I remembered from sometime last week that the paper it was on was green. And then I thought some more about it and got frustrated…mad that I was letting my brain fill up with garbage like that, remembering green paper. That all those bureaucratic details are bound to be squeezing out boot stuff, stuff I learned in Texas.

Sometimes my life doesn’t seem to make much sense…day jobs and boot dreams…seems a little like some kinda Roger Miller song.

“You can’t crimp vamps on an advisory board…
You can’t crimp vamps on an advisory board…
You can’t crimp vamps on an advisory board…

…but you can be happy if you’ve a mind to.

You can’t take a shower in a parakeet cage…
You can’t take a shower in a parakeet cage…
You can’t take a shower in a parakeet cage…

…but you can be happy if you’ve a mind to,

all you gotta do is put your mind to it.
…knuckle down, buckle down…do it…do it…do it.”

Tomorrow morning I’ll work on my web page update…maybe get the lip knife out, or try sewing in circles. (tgif)
