I’m gonna be in “reel trouble” if I don’t remember to return my “Urban Cowboy” video before I leave for Texas. I stayed up way too late the other night watching it. I’m intrigued a bit with all this 20th anniversary stuff…like the upcoming Broadway musical…
I am a week away from Coleman. People are giving me “advice” (like this)…. and tellin’ me it’s hot in Texas in July. Right now it’s 91 degrees in Coleman. I’m cold almost year round, here in Northern California. Texas is about the only place where my fingers and toes aren’t cold. My blood moves around much better in Texas.
I’m missing the big rodeo in Coleman, TX. I’ve been trying to keep up to date with current events by reading colemannews.com…I like the window with the lake water-level totals. When I talked to Tex Robin a week or so ago, there was rain. I’m starting to pack for my trip. I talk myself in and out of packing things all the time. I’m flying to Dallas, so I should pack for a plane trip…..but wait — I’ll have Texas gas prices and a rental car with unlimited mileage — so I should pack for a road trip. Okay, maybe I won’t pack the plaid thermos…but maybe I’ll stick a flashlight in my bag — this will go on all week. Otherwise I’ve been waiting for some mail to show up…I’ll go by my box again in the morning.
It would have been only a matter of time…but I was talking to Stephanie Ferguson last night…I’ve got THREE weekends while I’m on Coleman, not two!…what was I thinkin’? That’s what happens when you worry about the details of gettin’ there and lose track of the trip itself. Stephanie & I might team up for a field-trip, although she’s callin’ them “boot missions.” I’m in a really good mood this morning.
