I’m sorry to pass along some sad news. Bootmaker, Paul Wheeler passed away this morning. He was 83, and died peacefully at home with his family. My good thoughts go out to his family, and those of you who were close to him. I know he will be greatly missed.

Phew. I swear this time of year, changing the clock is the next best thing to gettin’ a tax refund check. Daylight…I love it.
(I’ve been really busy lately. I’ve been going up to Michael Anthony’s bootshop on Fridays. Friday used to be my day at home to work on my web page, get caught up on phone calls…stuff like that. I’m feelin’ like I’m stretched a little thin.)
To say that Michael Anthony’s motto is “…measure twice, cut once” would be a gross understatement. No eye-ballin’ or thumbnails allowed. He’s a maniac for details. He’s got at least five or six different lining leathers he uses for his boots. He picks a different one depending on the top and vamp material, color, price, weight of the boot…stuff like that.
